Attractive
Also easy to frame art

Excellent in Theory, Disappointing in Practice
The RÖDALM frame is visually attractive, and I especially appreciate the thin, transparent protective sheet that helps prevent fingerprints on the vinyl used instead of glass. Unfortunately, it has a major design flaw. The lower support of a frame should have the angled, tie-like shape commonly found in standard frames, allowing them to be displayed vertically or horizontally. The RÖDALM has this design only in its 8×10 size. Smaller versions have a right-angled support, making horizontal display impossible. This doesn't seem intentional, since the back includes hanging points for both orientations. There are also inconsistencies between production batches. The dimensions have changed, and the vinyl now sits closer to the outer edge of the wooden frame. As a result, the hanging points are positioned so far from the wall that unusual large nails are required. I chose these frames for their consistent appearance, but manufacturing changes have compromised design and functionality.

Great frame - maybe updated design?
I’ve bought these frames in the past. We had a need for a replacement. I am fairly certain this design has been updated and is much sturdier than the past design. Love the clips that fit into the back of the frame. Holds the frame together and feels much more solid than the past design. Also love the inset frame option. Hung beautifully on the wall.
